A Pokémon Research Lab (Japanese: ポケモン研究所 Pokémon Laboratory), sometimes known as a Pokémon Lab is a laboratory for researching Pokémon and other aspects of the Pokémon world. Here is where Trainers starting their Pokémon journey often receive their Pokédex and first partner Pokémon from the region's Pokémon Professor. Many laboratories have assistants who act as aides to the professor in their research and field studies.
